Top 5 Most Inspiring Christmas Characters
Christmas is truly the most magical time of the year. There is something about it that drives inspiration, and brings out the best in people.
But what is it exactly about Christmas that inspires us?
There are many things, but here at JM Security we believe one of the strongest sources of inspiration comes from Christmas stories and their characters.
So, it’s time for a fun little holiday read.
JM Security has put together a list of the most inspiring Christmas characters.
If you need some inspiration, you can count on these characters to provide it for you.
The Little Drummer Boy
Coming in at number 5 is The Little Drummer Boy.
Portrayed in the film, and in the famous Christmas song, The Little Drummer Boy, Aaron, is a young orphan boy whose family and home were taken away by bandits. After such a tragedy, he struggles to find it in his heart to once again love any human.
What is inspiring about Aaron, is the transformation his character goes through.
He goes on an life changing journey that leads him to Bethlehem, where he plays his drum for baby Jesus in the manger. It was here that he was loved for who he was - a boy with nothing to give but his music.
Being loved, despite how poor and hateful he was, changed his heart … which brought him to realize he was wrong to have carried so much hate in his heart.
Hermey the “Misfit” Elf
Hermey, the famous “misfit” elf that wants to be a dentist, is a character that was first brought to life in the 1964 film Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.
In the film Hermey is branded a “misfit” because he is an elf that does not like to make toys.
What is so inspiring about Hermey is that despite the pressure to conform to a traditional elf life, he chooses to independently accept his difference and pursue it.
As famously quoted by Hermey, “But I don’t need anybody…I’m…I’m independent!” We love that Hermey is not afraid to independently be who HE IS. He chooses to embrace his differences and achieve his dream of becoming a dentist.
We can all be inspired by this characters bravery, dedication, and of course “in-de-pen-dance”.
Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer
“You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen, Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen, but do you recall the most famous reindeer of all?”
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer comes in at number 3 on our list.
He is the most famous reindeer of all for a reason. We all know the story- the reindeer that doesn’t fit in because he has a red nose. But despite being teased and cast aside by almost everyone in Christmas town, Rudolph was still loving, caring, and forgiving to everyone, even to those who wouldn’t accept him.
He is so inspirational because he did not let his difference define his self worth. Instead he chooses to embrace his difference and ends up using his difference to become the hero of Christmas!
